BRICS Future Skills

About
BRICS Future Skills

Our vision

Create a pipeline of skills that lead to future and emerging jobs for our youth.

Let’s not get left behind…South Africa should stop playing catch-up.

Let’s start planning for future jobs

One of the nine working groups of the BRICS Business Council – the BRICS Future Skills Group has a number of objectives to support the ambitions of increased trade between BRICS Countries.

These are:

  1. Create an Atlas (roadmap) of future jobs and skills needed in each sector
  2. Where skills gaps exist, collaborate with BRICS and other partners to deliver skills camps
  3. Compete in BRICS Skills Competitions to benchmark South African skills and augment South African curriculum gaps identified
  4. Share knowledge with BRICS Council partners, Higher Education and TVET partners to help build skills pathways towards future jobs
  5. Share career guidance tools – such as the Atlas – to help parents and youth prepare for the future jobs coming.
